How To Secure Windows 2000 / XP - Tips!

How To Secure Windows 2000 / XP - Tips!:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING WINDOWSXP SP2 Some security softwares have had problems with Service Pack 2, like for example ZoneAlarm and some antivirus software. Also, there has been other issues regarding the SP2, I have personally found out that after installing it my computer stops working properly, I have not yet managed to solve the situation. Also, the SP2 has some changes regarding the settings of Internet Explorer, Windows ICF and other issues, so this page is not updated to meet SP2 details for now. My suggestion regarding SP2 is, that you should backup and try it out. If it works, fine, Microsoft has fixed some major security issues with it so you likely safe enought for now on default install on SP2 if you follow its security center guides. If you cannot install SP2 or get it working, then restore the old WindowsXP and use the settings and tips in this page as it is. Try later to install SP2 when Microsoft either fixes its bugs or we can discover some way to counter them.

"My Favorite Utilities" :: April 2005

"My Favorite Utilities" :: April 2005:

This past year, over 80 experts judged 543 Pocket PC and Smartphone nominations for Pocket PC magazine Best Software Awards 2004. Our judges had plenty to say about their favorite products. In this issue we are publishing their comments about the programs nominated for the Utilities software category. The purpose of publishing the comments is to give insights into a variety of products-not to show how the judges voted. The winners and finalists can be found on our Web site (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/a.... ) For the sake of brevity, we've included only one comment per product and edited them for clarity and brevity.

You’re not really any good at Dance Dance Revolution until you can play while juggling - Engadget - www.engadget.com /:

We’re going to have to face facts: no matter how many hours a day we spend playing Dance Dance Revolution, we’re never going to be as good as this kid who just one upped any entire planet of DDR’ers by managing to juggle three pins while playing at one of the fastest levels. His only competition is that one-legged guy.

Just saw a picture of this yesterday. A friend of mine told me he got an iPod mini and was looking for a case. This one seems really cool since you can still use the wheel while in the water. They rate it as a "Surface Version" which means it's good to 10ft. Their examples include surfing, wakeboarding, swimming and kayaking.

PBS | I, Cringely . April 14, 2005 - A Cup of Bandwidth

PBS | I, Cringely . April 14, 2005 - A Cup of Bandwidth:

Just as you probably are, I am the resident geek on my block. My neighbors on either side, not surprisingly, relied on me to help set up wireless networks in their Victorian homes. Right now, I can sit in my office, less than 100 feet from each of them, and see their WiFi access points strobing away on my computer screen. And like any hacker worth his bits, I of course left a backdoor into each network, 'Just in case you need me to troubleshoot something.' Yeah, right. But at least I told them. And neither the obstetrician nor the Presbyterian minister thought anything of it. I wondered how many more simultaneous connections I could make?

Tom's Hardware Guide Processors: CPU Charts

Tom's Hardware Guide Processors: CPU Charts
[ Direct Link ]    [ Redirect ]

This is really cool, easily compare between two processor from the old PIII 600 to the latest Athlon 64. Just pick your two CPUs and then the benchmark you want to see. It will show you an entire chart of all the CPU with the selected ones highlighted. Really useful when you're planning on upgrading.

They could have just made one really long article, but this way it gets right to the point faster.

It's finally here - a true performance comparison between AMD and Intel processors. This will allow ambitious users as well as OEM partners and especially dealers to compare their systems with our reference values. What's special about this is a feature that it lets you directly compare two different CPUs of your choice. Simply select the desired models and a benchmark, and the appropriate chart appears. The two CPUs are displayed in the diagrams as specially marked red bars. Shown at the very bottom is also some important additional information: the absolute and relative difference between the two models. If you click on any of the bars on the chart, a pop-up window appears with data about that particular test configuration we used.

If I made flash movies

Storage Technology
Apparently, someone thinks that if I made flash movies they would end up like this. Well, that's only if I had any artistic ability. Look at my blog, does it look like I have an artistic bone in my body?
