SKeeper™: Wearable Personal Communicator with Distress Alarm
A New Level of Personal Safety
SKeeper™ has taken PERS (Personal Emergency Response System) and social alarm systems, to the next level. Fitted with a "Safety Call" button and built-in cellular communicator, it can activate a warning signal when needed, enabling wearers to be immediately contacted from any caller or via a secure Web interface, PDA, smart-phone or through a remote monitoring center.
Here’s a great way to keep tabs on Gramps or that little one. It’s called the SKeeper by Tadiran LifeCare, and it’s a wearable personal communicator with distress alarm. With its easy-to-use controls, it lets its wearer immediately contact predefined telephone numbers, such as a relative or emergency services. When the alarm is triggered, the unit can also send text messages to designated e-mail addresses. It can also track location and sound an alarm if its wearer goes outside a designated neighborhood. Plus, it can be remotely programmed from the Web. No pricing yet, but the unit will start shipping in the second quarter of 2006.

Gizmodo : Johnson & Johnson Dermabond

Gizmodo : Johnson & Johnson Dermabond

dermabond

"Is purple your favorite color? Do you often lose to yourself in drunken games of mumblypeg? Good news for you, then. DERMABOND (From the latin for 'skin' and 'sticky') by a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary is a liquid stitching system— simply pinch the wound to bring the skin together, apply two layers of Dermabond, and hold for about a minute. It forms a durable, flexible bond that stays around for about a week. In pleasant violet, because your bar buddies deserve no less. Similar technology has been in use for quite a while, but Johnson & Johnson is pushing it to consumers, whose love for self-inflicted wounds have been increasing since the discovery of LiveJournal."
