the cool hunter - SELK'BAG (a sleeping bag with arms and legs)

seltbag

I know just the picklesickle that this would be perfect for.

The only thing worse than being trapped in a sleeping bag, is needing to go to the toilet in one. Well cast those fears aside as the new Selk'bag is here. This sleeping bag is more like a body bag ( not the corpse ones ). It's padded and shaped to the human form and allows free movement both in and out of sleep, where traditional sleeping bags don't. The various ties and adjustment belts allow for a very snug fir which keeps the warmth in and gives you further control when moving about. Selk'bag is padded with a number of layered inserts which provide maximum comfort when lying on even the hardest surfaces. Best of al , even the ugliest camper can look positively cute once wrapped in the Selk'bag. Snug, Smart, freeing! by Billy T via designspotter

Review: Qix, a new way to use your phone - MobileTracker

Review: Qix, a new way to use your phone - MobileTracker

This is really cool it allows you to access most applications and features by typing them in. Windows also has Colibri which does the same thing. It's too bad this app needs to be installed by your carrier.

We don't highlight many applications on MobileTracker, but we got to play around with one called Qix and had to share. It's only for Symbian phones and has to be installed by the carrier (you'll see why in the video), but it presents a whole new way to use a phone. It's like Quicksilver (Mac) or AppRocket (Windows) for a phone.

What to do with the empty Whisky/glass bottles; Whisky PC by MetkuMods - Because you love your hardware!

What to do with the empty Whisky/glass bottles; Whisky PC by MetkuMods - Because you love your hardware!

Who would have thought, modding a whisky bottle to hold a computer. Crazy!

16_Working3

I already had a powerful computer setup so I wanted something more quiet, small and low power consumptioning to function as a basic home server. I love to tinker with hardware etc. so I wanted to make something quite unique for a case. I have seen many nice and creative cases before but none of them were made out of a bottle. In November I bought an industrial 3.5' SBC board (with Socket370). For the project I selected a 1.5 litre Ballantine's bottle for case. That was the proper size and shape for the task at hand.

www.540i6.com - BMW Ultimate Cupholder Cup Holder

cupholder-desk-front

The stock cup holders in most BMWs are useless and I couldn't find an after-market cup holder that worked well and wasn't way over-priced, so finally I designed one myself. It's a nicer version of one that I made a long time ago. I've used it in all three of the BMWs that I've owned (E34, E36, and E39). It's the best approach for a practical cup holder that I've found yet for the 5 Series cars.

It's a simple, one-piece, all-metal design, made from 20 guage 304-grade stainless steel. It's large enough to actually be useful in the real world. Unlike the stock cupholders, it's basically indestructable - no moving parts or little plastic pieces to break. I tried a number of more complex approaches, but, as in the case of many things, the most simple seems to work best. (It's a cup holder - how complicated does it need to be?)

I have these CNC cut by laser, and then form and finish them by hand. Even though you don't really see them much in use, I wanted something that looked nice enough to put into the cars. I think it came out pretty well. If interested, you can get one here: BMW cup holders at http://www.ultimatecupholders.com. They also work with Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Acura NSX and other cars with a similar console arrangement.

Reuters.com: 159 mph? That's where we draw the line..

LONDON (Reuters) - A British traffic officer caught driving at 159 mph but cleared by a court of speeding and dangerous driving faces a legal move at the High Court in London Wednesday to convict him.

The Attorney General will appeal against the acquittal of constable Mark Milton and seek a High Court order that the advanced police driver should be convicted over his high speed blast in the early hours of December 5, 2003.

Milton, a qualified advanced driver, was recorded by an onboard camera in his upgraded unmarked Vauxhall Vectra police car traveling at 91 mph in a 30 mph zone and hitting 159 mph on the M54 motorway. The legal limit in Britain is 70 mph.

Milton's defense, accepted by the local judge in May 2005, was that he had taken the car on a test run around Telford, Shropshire, where he was based.

The judge said the prosecution had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he had driven dangerously and that the car was being 'used for police purposes' when the incident occurred.

The ruling prompted outrage in the media and condemnation from motoring groups.

Wednesday, lawyers for the Attorney General will argue the district judge erred in law when he made his judgment.

Reuters.com: Rails missing; it's hard to keep track...

BERLIN (Reuters) - Thieves have dismantled and carted away some 5 kms (3 miles) of disused rail track close to the German town of Weimar, railway operator Deutsche Bahn said on Friday.

The railway operator said the thieves would probably sell the tracks as scrap metal with the damage amounting to at least 200,000 euros ($241,500).

Deutsche Bahn said it had noticed the missing track after the mayor of a town alongside the train line phoned in to check if the dismantling was planned.

'This was a major criminal operation, because you cannot simply take the tracks and carry them away,' said a spokesman for the rail operator.

VMware moves to free with Server product | The Register

VMware moves to free with Server product | The Register

This is great, now Microsoft VirtualServer will have to try even harder to comptete. Maybe Microsoft will have to give away a free version as well.

As anticipated, VMware has created a free version of its server partitioning software in the hopes of drawing new customers to its technology. In addition, the move counters open source rival XenSource, which gives away core server virtualization technology known as a hypervisor.

The free product will be called VMware Server and will join the Workstation, GSX Server and ESX Server products. VMware Server relates most closely to the midrange GSX Server product often used by VMware customers to test and and develop software packages. The high-end ESX Server is used for production applications and actually slots in below operating systems such as Windows and Linux, whereas GSX Server and the upcoming VMware Server run on top of the OS.

.
.
.

The VMware Server, for example, has a feature not even present in GSX Server. It supports Intel's VT technology for improving virtualization performance. In addition, it supports 64-bit guest operating systems - including Solaris x86 - and has support for virtual SMPs. So, it's not just some crippled, low-end product.

Next week, a beta version of VMware Server will be available here. The product is expected to be fully baked in the first half of this year, and VMware expects to sell plenty of support contracts behind it. Over time, it will effectively replace GSX Server.

Welcome to Jetway Computer _ Buying Info

Welcome to Jetway Computer _ Buying Info

Sounds convenient to have two people able to use the same computer at the same time on different screens.

The MiniQ MagicTwin series barebone system is the world’s first multi-user enabled SFF solution available in the market. The special designed 2-user-system allows two users to share the computing power of a single PC system. With integrated circuitry onboard, the MagicTwin® barebone comes with innovative software, the MagicTwin, allowing 2 users to be connected to it and runs up to two (2) stations directly from it simultaneously. The unique and copyright-protected technology enables each of the 2 users to feel like having himself his own Windows-XP computer. Each user needs to have himself his own keyboard, mouse, sound device, and monitor. All remaining PC hardware are shared, even the IP.

Both users can operate on their own station concurrently, similar to the operation on a standard PC, the Windows applications to create and edit documents, to do web surfing, to access email, just to name a few. There is no obvious delay because of the Time-slicing/Multiplexing technology built-in. Each user gets an exact and extremely short defined moment to access to the PC system, devices, applications and Windows itself. Resources are only claimed for nanoseconds at a time. Both users get from Windows and the PC, what they really need when they need it! The MagicTwin solution turns the single PC into a cost-effective multi-user system.

The setup is intuitive and easy. In only a few minutes, users can install and start using their new workstation. No network administrator is needed as everything to network the workstations together is done automatically with the MagicTwin software. You can add immediately additional user station to the single system and turn one PC into two.
