Downtown sidewalk baseball ** RANT ALERT **

Judging by the street corners downtown, lots of people must play baseball. You've seen these people, they either stand with only their heels on the sidewalk or a few feet into the street.

It's not because there are lots of people on the sidewalk or there is a problem with the sidewalk.

Do they think they are going to score a multi-million dollar contract if they get across the street first?

I've got a theory though, I'm convinced these people want to be nudged when a car goes by. Or maybe they are doing a public service during the winter when the cars are really dirty, they are hoping the cars drive by them and rub the salt and dirt onto their jackets. I salute these people in their effort to keep part of one side of cars in the downtown core clean.
